#1 The Kerala Story
The Kerala Story is a 2023 Indian Hindi-language drama film directed by Sudipto Sen and produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah. It stars Adah Sharma, Yogita Bihani, Sonia Balani, and Siddhi Idnani. The plot follows a fictional story of a group of women from Kerala who are coerced into converting to Islam, and go on to join the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). The film is premised on the conspiracy theory of "love jihad",and falsely claims that thousands of women from Kerala have been converted to Islam and recruited into ISIS; experts from the Observer Research Foundation have noted that less than 200 Indians had joined ISIS, with people from Kerala accounting for less than a quarter of it.
#2 Pathaan
Pathaan is a 2023 Indian Hindi-language action thriller film directed by Siddharth Anand and written by Shridhar Raghavan and Abbas Tyrewala, from a story by Anand. The fourth installment in the YRF Spy Universe, it stars Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, Dimple Kapadia, and Ashutosh Rana. In the film, Pathaan (Khan), an exiled RAW agent, works with ISI agent Rubina Mohsin (Padukone) to take down Jim (Abraham), a former RAW agent planning to spread a deadly lab-generated virus across India.
Produced by Aditya Chopra of Yash Raj Films, the film began principal photography in November 2020 in Mumbai. The film was shot over various locations in India, Afghanistan, Spain, UAE, Turkey, Russia, Italy and France. Two songs were composed by the duo Vishal–Shekhar, while Sanchit Balhara and Ankit Balhara provided the score. The film was made on an estimated production budget of ₹225 crore (US$28 million) with a further ₹15 crore (US$1.9 million) spent on print and advertising. Against the norm, pre-release publicity was limited with no media interaction or public events.
#3 Shehzada
Shehzada (transl. Prince) is a 2023 Indian Hindi-language action film directed by Rohit Dhawan and co-produced by T-Series Films, Haarika & Hassine Creations,
Geetha Arts and Brat Films. A remake of the 2020 Telugu film Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, it stars Kartik Aaryan, who also co-produced the film, alongside Kriti Sanon, Paresh Rawal, Manisha Koirala, Rajpal Yadav, Ronit Roy and Sachin Khedekar.
Principal photography commenced in October 2021 and ended in January 2023. The film is shot extensively in Mumbai, Delhi and Mauritius. The film score and soundtrack album are composed by Pritam. Initially scheduled for theatrical release on 10 February 2023, Shehzada was released a week later on 17 February, due to the success of Pathaan. The film received negative reviews from critics and was a commercial failure.

Waltair Veerayya is a 2023 Indian Telugu-language action film directed by Bobby Kolli and produced by Mythri Movie Makers. The film stars Chiranjeevi as the title character alongside Ravi Teja, Shruti Haasan, and Catherine Tresa.
#5 Thunivu
Thunivu (transl. Fortitude) is a 2023 Indian Tamil-language action heist film written and directed by H. Vinoth, and produced by Boney Kapoor. It stars Ajith Kumar in lead role with Manju Warrier, Samuthirakani, John Kokken, Ajay and Veera in supporting roles.
The film was announced with the tentative title AK61 (Ajith's 61st film in a leading role) in February 2022, the third collaboration between Ajith, Vinoth and Kapoor after Nerkonda Paarvai (2019) and Valimai (2022). Principal photography commenced in April and ended that October, taking place in Hyderabad and Bangkok. The title Thunivu was announced in September. Post-production works began in late-October and were completed that December.
Thunivu was released theatrically in the week of Pongal on 11 January 2023. The film received mixed reviews from critics and was a commercial success.
