When it comes to flute player i.e. flute player the first face that pops up in front of our eyes is that of Kanha . The same Kanha, whom we also call Lord Shri Krishna . Pandit Hari Prasad Chaurasiya
Early Life :- Chaurasiya was born in Allahabad in the indian state of Uttar Pradesh. His mother died when he was six years old . he had to learn music without his father's knowledge as his father wanted him to become a wrestler Chaurasiya did go to the Akhada and trained with his father for sometime although he also started learning music and practicing at his friends house.
Personal Life :- Chaurasiya has married twice, first to Kamla Devi and then Anuradha Roy. he has three sons. with first wife Kamla Devi he was two sons, Vinay and Ajay. with Anuradha Chaurasiya has a son named Rajiv. Chaurasiya has five granddaughters and a grandson .his nephew Rakesh Chaurasiya is also flautist and carrying forward the family legacy.

Shashank Subramanyam :-
Early life :- Shashank Sooryavansham was born in Rudra Patna, India to Hemlata and Subramanyam. his forefathers belong to really Tirunelveli district of Tamilnadu .he was trained in Karnataka music by his father, KV Narayanaswamy, and Hindustani music under Pandit Jasraj. Shashank married to sheesrha, Bharatanatyam dancer. we had no Gurus for playing and was self-taught. Shashank and Sirisha have a daughter swara and son samvit and live in Chennai, India.

Pandit Ronu Mazumdar:-
Early Life :- Pandit Ronu is a Trend setter, a style maker & responsible for popularizing flute all across the Globe of his era. He has been felicitated with many renowned awards over the years, 'All India Radio Award was his first recognition, Aditya Vikram Birla Award in the year 1999, Sangeet Natak Academy Award 2014 & Lifetime Achievement Award by Navbharat Times in the hands of Honorable Chief Minister of Maharashtra Shri. Devendra Phadnavis, National Kumar Gandharva Award in the year 2006, and Pandit Jasraj Gaurav Puraskar in the year 2008.
N Ramani :-
Early Life :- Dr. Natesan Ramani commonly known as N. Ramani or N. Flute Ramani, was an Indian Carnatic flautist. He was awarded the Madras Music Academy's Sangeetha Kalanidhi in 1996. Ramani is also credited with introducing the long flute into Carnatic music.
Ramani performed his first concert at the age of 8.The turning point in Ramani's career was when he became a disciple of his maternal uncle and eminent flautist the late T. R. Mahalingam (known more commonly as "Flute Mali") who first popularized the Carnatic flute in Indian music. By the age of 11 years, his first concert was held at Singaravelavar Temple, Sikkil, near Nagapattinam, Tamil Nadu.
His mother Smt Sarathambal was instrumental in bringing him to notice. She accompanied him for his concerts when he was studying at Boys High School Tiruvarur. Ramani accompanied his guru T. R. Mahalingam in a concert for the first time. N Ramani is related to Sikkil Sisters, his contemporary flute-playing duo.
Career :- In 1945, Ramani performed his first concert on All India Radio.
And then he worked for Madras Music Academy.
Debo Priya and Sushmita Chattarjee :-
Early Life: -Debo Priya Chatterjee and Sushmita Chatterjee are sisters by birth, popularly known as the "flute sisters". They are Indian Hindustani music artists who play instrumental Indian flute music.
Born into a well-known family of musicians in Allahabad, the Chatterjee sisters were prompted to learn flute by their parents Robin and Krishna Chatterjee, who were classical Hindustani vocalists. Robin, whose work led the family to live in Afghanistan for a time, suggested to his daughters that they become flautists, to fulfill a dream he had never been able to live up to. After returning to India, the sisters began their flute training under the tutelage of Pandit Bholanath Prasanna. In their teenage years, they began studying with flautist guru Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasiya.
Career :- In January 2014, the sisters gave a presentation combining talk and musical demonstrations at a cultural Programme organized by the Symbiosis Institute of Mass Communications of Pune. They consider the flute to be "a full-fledged member of the Indian classical music family". The sisters hold that at its root, the flute is a folk instrument with a history embedded by legends of the Mahabharata period when Krishna wooed gopis with his bansuri or flute.
